Fiddler's Rose cover

Fiddler’s Rose

Rose is a young sorceress with problems. She’s turning into a dragon. She’s falling in love with a ghost. And she REALLY needs to get her hands on a dagger that’s buried in the mud, 500 miles from nowhere, under 2000 fathoms of ocean.

Fiddler’s Rose is an epic quest wrapped around a love story set in a quasi-medieval magical otherworld, told almost entirely in deft, naturalistic dialog that is usually witty, sometimes hilarious, and occasionally profound. The main characters are very real, in spite of the fact that neither of them is quite human. While the format significantly limits sensory information, it also presents emotional reality with rare clarity as the characters face horror, despair, and joy in the course of their journey.

Love doesn’t need to be graphic to engage your heart, and horror doesn’t need to be explicit to invade your dreams.

Unicorns & Other Monsters cover

Unicorns & Other Monsters

Nine medieval fantasy stories will take the reader from twilight to darkness and back into the light. Some monsters are people; some people are monsters. Strange forces like courage, honor, friendship, and love can drive all of them– and all of us. Included stories range from grim military tales through a feminist re-telling of “Cinderella” to a truly sweet bed-time story.

Plain Brown Wrapper cover

Plain Brown Wrapper

This is a collection of seven short stories set in universes we don’t own, and to which we never expect to have rights. We still like them too well to leave them buried in the basement.

Since we will never be able to sell them, we are giving them away.

Stories want to be told.
